Corsica is one of the most manysided
holiday destinations in Europe. There is a large variety of
landscapes: The highest summit of this mountain chain in the
sea is the Monte Cinto (2706 m.). Along the west coast there
are cleft steep coasts and along the east coast there is a several
kilometers wide plain with flat sandy beaches. There are solitary
mountain villages which can only be reached on narrow mountain
roads. There you can meet sheep, wild boars and cows just on
the road. Napoleon is quoted with the words that he would recognize
the island with closed eyes just from the perfume. And even
today when a traveller is leaving the air plane or the boat
on arrival the characteristic smell of the macchia can be clearly
distinguished. But its is not only rural countryside: the vivid
towns have a special character. Holiday on Corsica is not inevitably
only a bathing holiday: There is much to see.
The
east coast
The east coast of Corsica is on a length of ca.
100 km between Bastia and Solenzara a several kilometers wide
plain with a sandy beach. This makes the east coast the perfect
destination for a bathing holiday. But there are also many points
of interest. Bungalow "Sabine" is situated ca 15 km
north of Aleria in the holiday village "A Furesta".
