Points of interest in the surroundings of
our bungalow
In the surroundings of our bungalow there are
many points of interest. The following are just a few examples.
The several kilometers wide plain on the east coast of Corsica
was until the 1940’s practically uninhabited. The old
corsican villages are situated on the steep mountain slopes
in some kilometers distance. In the evening the lights of the
villages twinkle down to us and it is worth the effort to go
there.
Linguizetta
Linguizetta, the village to which „A Furesta" belongs
administratively, is reached on a narrow turning road. The village
lanes are looking like fresh from the middle age and you can
enjoy a great view on the plain and the sea. You can continue
on a narrow mountain road to other villages like Canale di Verde,
Chiatra and Piazzali
Cervione
Cervione was the residential town of the german king of Corsica
Theodor I. Beside the church a statue commemorates the past
glory. A stroll through the narrow and steep lanes passes along
the interesting cathedral and always opens new views on the
wide panorama of the east coast. Especially beautiful is the
continuation of this excursion on the „Corniche de la
Castagniccia", a narrow raod along the mountain slope to
San Nicolao with great views on the coastal plain and the sea.
Orezza and
La Porta
Since some years the mineral spa of „Eaux d’Orezza"
is again used. In the neighbouring village La Porta the most
beautiful campanile on Corsica and the rich ornamented baroque
church are waiting for a visit.
Bravone: Café
La Tour
Café La Tour is situated on hill naer the beach. Here
you can enjoy the view on the coast and the sea while having
a home made cake or a pizza. Homepage

Aleria
Corsica is situated immediately in front of Rome. During the
roman empire this was a place of strategic importance and on
the east coast of Corsica there was one of the biggest military
harbours outside Italy. Today the excavations and a museum exhibiting
findings can be visited
Corte
Corte is the secret capital of Corsica and can easily be reached
on the N200. Here the traces of the centuries long struggle
for independence of the isle can be seen clearest.
